Carter’s School Uniform Fashion Rewind – Volume One
Carter’s School Uniform Fashion Rewind – Volume One
So as you probably know by now, Carter has to wear a school uniform. Well, the school calls it that, but it is really just a strict dress code. It might seem crazy, but when I was deciding which school to send Carter to, the dress code thing did play a factor in my decision making. Most moms would probably say, “YES, bring on the dress code.” I do understand that it can make life easier, especially when you are trying to rush out the door 5 mornings a week, but I am one of those crazy moms that actually thinks it’s a drag. I love helping Carter develop her personal style and, lets face it, I love dressing her.
Once we decided on the Catholic school for Carter, I marched over to the office with a list of dress code questions. I knew that she had to wear black or navy bottoms, and white, grey, maroon, or navy tops, but I wanted to know exactly where the boundaries lie.
I happily found out that although she cannot wear any prints, fabric choice doesn’t matter, so Carter is welcome to wear a tutu or even leather leggings, as long as they are black or navy. On top of that, footwear doesn’t matter, so she can wear any shoes she wants.
I think I went into every store that sells her size and bought everything I could find in a solid navy, black, grey, and maroon and I was able to find plenty to work with. We, of course, bought a bunch of school uniform staples like pleated skirts and jumper dresses because, lets face it, those are pretty darn cute too.
So, I am going to regularly post Carter’s fashion rewind and share our boundary pushing, uniform options with you every week (or as often as I can). We hope you enjoy!
Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
