But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16

When I said these words to my husband at our wedding in August 2010, I didn’t know where they would take us. We both loved our life in San Diego, California but sometimes God answers prayers in a way that forces us away from what is comfortable and safe.

We wanted a good school system, we wanted financial security, we wanted affordable health care. We prayed for these wants daily for  many years and then finally God answered. I guess we were expecting for these things to come to just show up at our door but instead God set it up for us to go seek these desires and through that further seek him. It was a hard decision to leave California but ultimately it was the answer to our prayers.
So here we are in Toronto, Ontario. Toronto is different from San Diego, Ontario is different from California, Canada is so different from America, but we are learning and growing and making this place our home.
My husband is a marketing guru but in his other life he is a retired professional paintball player turned coach. I am a stay at home mom with a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. Our daughter Carter was born in December 2011 and our son Monroe was born in September 2013.
Thank you for following along as we learn to navigate our new life as Canadians.
Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
Love, The Glaze Brigade
Rusty, Jessica, Carter and Monroe
